Full prompt and why it works
Prompt
{{subject}}, flat vector spot illustration for {{use_case}}, simple geometric shapes, no outlines, subtle grain texture, limited palette of {{palette}}, one accent color on the focal point only, soft even light with gentle flat shadows, a calm, friendly mood, single centered subject on a plain {{background}} background, generous empty space around it, clean modern editorial style, consistent rounded proportions --ar {{aspect_ratio}} --s 50 --sref {{style_reference}} --no text, letters, logos, watermark, photo, gradient, clutter
Variables
- {{subject}}
- What this illustration shows, concretely, for example "a hand dropping a paper envelope into a mailbox". Change only this for each image in the set.
- {{use_case}}
- Where the set will be used, in a few words, for example "a company website" or "an annual report". Midjourney may draw what you name, so name the setting, not its content.
- {{palette}}
- Three or four colors, for example "deep navy, cream and coral". Keep it the same for every image.
- {{background}}
- The background color, for example "warm off-white".
- {{aspect_ratio}}
- The shape in whole numbers, for example 1:1 for icons or 4:3 for slide images.
- {{style_reference}}
- The URL of the first illustration you liked from this series, so the rest match it. For the very first image, delete --sref and this value.
Why it works
- An example. Using your first good image as the --sref for the rest, with the palette and style words unchanged, is what holds a Midjourney series together as one family.
- Layout. A description in phrases with no request words, and every parameter at the end, is the form Midjourney reads best.
- What to avoid. Text, letters and logos go in the trailing --no list, since generated lettering comes out garbled; add any words in your slide or page layout instead.
