Custom instructions for every AI you use

Tell your AI once who you are and how you like answers, and it remembers in every chat. Answer a few questions; the builder writes standing instructions for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot, and shows where each one goes. Nothing you type leaves this browser.

New to this? What it does, in plain words

Every AI assistant has a place for standing instructions: things it should know about you and how you want answers, in every chat, without saying them again.

Most people leave it empty, so every chat starts from zero. A few minutes here gives you instructions that make answers shorter, plainer and more honest, written in the format each assistant expects.

Pick the closest role and change anything that does not fit. Every line is yours to edit before you copy it.

Where it goes

Nowhere. It is built in your browser, and you paste it into your assistant yourself.

    Why standing instructions work

An assistant knows nothing about you at the start of a chat. Standing instructions are read before every message, so the context you would otherwise retype is always there.

    Questions

What should I put in ChatGPT custom instructions?

Two things: who you are and what your work involves, and how you want answers, such as length, tone and what to avoid. Keep each part under 1,500 characters so it fits every account; the counter above shows where you are.

Do Claude, Gemini and Copilot have custom instructions?

Yes, under different names. Claude has personal preferences and project instructions, Gemini has saved info and Gems, and Microsoft 365 Copilot has custom instructions in its settings where an organization allows them. Menu names change often; if you cannot find it, search the app’s help for custom instructions.

Will it stop the AI from sounding like AI?

It helps a lot, because it tells the model what to do instead, which models follow better than bans. For a draft that still sounds off, the Robot-Speak Checker marks every remaining tell.
