thinkhard.SI

Check AI-written slides before the room reads them.

thinkhard.si for PowerPoint is a free add-in. Press Check slides on the Home tab and a pane reads every slide: what will read as machine-made, the numbers and sources to verify, the blanks the AI left and the private details. Safe for AI sends slide text to ChatGPT or Claude with names and numbers swapped for placeholders. It runs in PowerPoint and sends none of your text to thinkhard.si.

Check every slide

A deck drafted with AI tends to show it on the slide everyone reads at once. Check reads the whole presentation, or only the text you selected, with the same rules as the site's own tools:

  • Phrases that sound machine-made. Titles such as "unlocking growth in a fast-paced world" and AI-favorite words, as the Robot-Speak Checker finds them.
  • Claims to check. Every line with a number, a date, a quote or a named source, riskiest first. A wrong figure on a slide is the one people remember. The same rules as the Fact Check List.
  • Markdown and blanks. Stars and pound signs pasted from a chat, and text such as [insert region] that is easy to miss on slide 14.
  • Private details. Email addresses, phone and account numbers that should not be on a slide shared outside the team.

Click a finding and PowerPoint goes to its slide and selects the words. Reading the whole presentation needs a version of PowerPoint from mid-2022 or later, which includes Microsoft 365 and PowerPoint on the web; older versions check the text you select. It reads text boxes and placeholders. Tables, speaker notes and grouped shapes are left out, along with any text inside a picture.

Use ChatGPT or Claude on a client deck, safely

Safe for AI takes the selected text or the whole presentation, slide by slide, and swaps every name, email address, phone and account number for a placeholder such as [NAME_1], the way Safe Paste does. Say what the AI should do, for example "make each slide shorter and clearer for the leadership team", open ChatGPT or Claude with it, then paste the answer back into the pane. The real details go back in, and Put it on the slide replaces the selected text, or adds a text box when nothing is selected.

Score a prompt before you use it

Select a request you are about to give an AI, open Prompt, and it is scored out of 10 on the ten checks, with the questions the AI would otherwise guess at. Write a better prompt rebuilds it as the Prompt Improver does.

How to add it

Until it is listed in Microsoft AppSource, PowerPoint adds it from a small file that tells PowerPoint where the add-in lives.

  1. Download the add-in file (manifest-powerpoint.xml).
  2. Open a presentation in PowerPoint on the web, at office.com.
  3. On the Home tab choose Add-ins, then More Add-ins. In the window that opens, choose My Add-ins, then Upload My Add-in, and pick the file. The wording can differ slightly between versions of PowerPoint.
  4. Check slides appears on the Home tab. Press it to open the pane.

At work, your IT team can add it for everyone at once from the Microsoft 365 admin center (Settings, Integrated apps, Upload custom apps) with the same file. That is also how it reaches PowerPoint on Windows and Mac before the AppSource listing.

Private by design

Every check runs in the pane, inside PowerPoint. The add-in sends nothing on your slides to thinkhard.si or anyone else and stores nothing. It reads the presentation only when you press a button, and changes it only when you ask it to put text in. Text goes to ChatGPT or Claude only when you press their button, with the placeholders in place of the details you kept ticked. The full detail is in the privacy policy.

Questions

Does it tell me whether AI wrote a deck?

No, and no tool can tell reliably. It shows the habits that make slides read as machine-made and the claims that need checking, so you can fix them before you present.

Why does it ask to read and change the presentation?

To read the text it checks, and to go to the slide a finding is on or put text in when you ask. It can reach only the presentation it is open in.

Does it work on a Mac?

Yes, in PowerPoint for Mac and in PowerPoint on the web. Reading every slide at once needs PowerPoint for Mac 16.62 or later; before that, it checks the text you select.

Is there one for Word or Excel?

Yes. thinkhard.si for Word checks a document and highlights what it found, and thinkhard.si for Excel sends a table to ChatGPT or Claude with the private details swapped out. All the add-ins are on the integrations page.
