Check an AI-written post before it goes live.

Publish Check is a free WordPress plugin that reads a post in the block editor before you press Publish. It shows the phrases that sound machine-made, the claims to check, markdown left over from a chat, blanks the AI left for you, private details and the links to open, all inside the editor and without sending your post anywhere.

Download the pluginVersion 1.0. WordPress 6.3 or later, the block editor. Free, MIT license.

What it checks

  • Phrases that sound machine-made. Filler openings such as "Certainly", AI-favorite words such as delve and seamless, long dashes, too much bold and the other habits readers notice, with the exact phrases. The same rules as the Robot-Speak Checker.
  • Claims to check. Every sentence with a number, a date, a quote, a named study or a source, riskiest first, because these are the details AI makes up most often. The same rules as the Fact Check List.
  • Markdown left over from a chat. Stars, pound signs and [links](like this) that show as symbols on the page when an answer is pasted from ChatGPT or Claude.
  • Blanks the AI left for you. Text such as [insert company name] that is easy to miss in a long post.
  • Private details. Email addresses, phone numbers and long numbers like card or account numbers, so nothing goes out by mistake.
  • Links to open. Every link in the post, because AI writes links that look right and lead nowhere.

Install it

  1. Download the plugin zip above.
  2. In WordPress, go to Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin, choose the zip and press Install Now, then Activate.
  3. Open a post. Publish Check is in the editor's sidebar menu, and it opens by itself on the screen you see when you press Publish.

It is not in the WordPress.org plugin directory yet. Until it is, updates are posted on the changelog.

Private by design

The checks run in your browser, inside the editor. The plugin makes no network requests, stores nothing, and adds no database tables, settings or tracking to your site. Two buttons at the bottom of the panel open the full Fact Check List or Robot-Speak Checker on thinkhard.si in a new tab, with the post's text after the # in the address, which browsers never send to a server.

Questions

Does it tell me whether AI wrote a post?

No, and no tool can tell reliably. It shows the habits that make writing read as machine-made and the details that need checking, so you can fix them before readers notice.

Does it slow down my site?

No. It loads only in the block editor, for people editing posts, and never on the pages your visitors see.

Does it work with the classic editor?

No. It needs the block editor, which WordPress has used by default since version 5.0.

Can it check facts for me?

It finds every claim worth checking and puts the riskiest first. Whether a claim is true takes a source: the Fact Check List on thinkhard.si gives a search link for each one, and AI with web search can help, but only a source you trust can confirm it.

Where are the other thinkhard.si integrations?

On the integrations page: the MCP server for Claude and ChatGPT, the browser extension, the command line for CI and the REST API.
